Artemy Lebedev makes a great point about web designers. We’re not called “web artists” for a reason. The web designers goal isn’t to make something look pretty. Rather, to accomplish (hopefully) clearly stated goals. Although it often times does look great, that isn’t the primary objective.

Gmail class names, icons and rounded corners, oh my!

A few observations about Gmail’s HTML and CSS. In short, Gmail uses a very intriguing method to round corners and show icons. Their use of class names is less desirable.
