If you haven’t heard, typography on the web is kind of a big deal. I’ve been getting my fix of type from a few places. Here is a smattering of inspiration, some links are recent and some have been around the block for a while.
- CSS3 grid positioning - The implementation of columns of text, similar to books and newspapers. This would make life so much easier, I can’t wait to work with this feature. More info on CSS3.
- 15 excellent examples of web typography - I Love Typography is amazing, this article is especially interesting.
- iA 95% of Web design is typography - Type, it’s what the web is all about.
- 5 Steps to grid layouts - The guide by Mark Boulton to creating grid systems on the web.
- Grid Calculator - A tool for working out the width of columns and gutters, so very useful.
- Design by grid - Showcase site and resource for grid design on websites.
- Tutorial Blog - Nice post about grid systems.
- Grid Layouts - Ctrl+Shift+G toggles grids on and off, very helpful script.
That’s all for now. In other news, I’ve finished my resume and portfolio. Now I just need to find a mentor that can tell me what I’m doing wrong. Any takers?
